Chinese ear cleaning (采耳) is a slow, gentle grooming of the outer ear, done under a light with fine tools and soft, feathery touches. For healthy ears it is safe when done gently, and most people find it deeply relaxing. It is not a medical treatment: if your ear hurts, feels blocked or your hearing has changed, see a doctor first.
What it feels like
Expect light tickling and tingling around the ear, a soft rustling sound, and a wave of calm. The ear has many nerve endings, which is why such light touches feel so strong. Many guests doze off. It should never be painful: say so at once if anything feels sharp or too deep.
Is it safe?
Doctors point out that ears clean themselves: earwax moves outward on its own, and pushing anything deep into the ear canal can cause harm. A careful ear cleaning respects that. The therapist works on the outer part of the ear where they can see, with slow movements, and never forces anything.
Your part is simple: keep your head still, and tell your therapist straight away if you feel pain, dizziness or want to stop.
Hygiene
Our ear cleaning tools are single-use. Every guest gets a new set, and it is thrown away after the session.
When to skip it and see a doctor
- Ear pain, discharge, bleeding or a recent ear infection.
- A perforated eardrum, ear tubes or recent ear surgery.
- A blocked feeling, sudden hearing loss or ringing in the ear.
- Hard, impacted earwax. That needs a doctor, not a spa.
How often?
Because ears look after themselves, ear cleaning is something to enjoy now and then for relaxation, not a routine your ears need. Leaving a few weeks between sessions is plenty.
